Why Do I Need an Eye Exam?
Regular eye exams play a critical role in your health.
During an eye exam, your eye doctor can spot the early signs of eye diseases and other health conditions that otherwise might go undetected. For many of these conditions, early diagnosis and treatment are essential to slow their progression and save your eyesight. Regardless of whether you are having symptoms or not, it’s important that you see your optometrist for an eye exam on a regular basis.

How Often Do I Need to Get an Eye Exam?
Following the Canadian Association of Optometrists guidelines, we recommend getting an eye exam:
- Every 2–3 years if you are aged 20–39
- Every 2 years if you are aged 40–65
- Every year if you are over the age of 65
While this schedule is appropriate for most individuals, at Elite Vision Therapy we know that every one of our patients has unique needs. When you book an appointment with us, we’ll get to know you, your vision goals, and your risk factors so we can recommend an eye exam schedule that suits you.
