Office Changes & New Protocols

We have added a COVID-19 screening room at our entrance, plexiglass throughout the reception, the Optical and the vision therapy areas, protective barriers on all Optometric examination equipment, and UV-sterilization stations for all frames.

To ramp up our patient load safely, we will be triaging emergency and urgent patients, followed by Vision Therapy progress assessments and Vision Therapy/Neuro-Visual Evaluations. We are encouraging any consults with the Optometrists and Vision Therapists be done over Tele-Optometry (phone consult), if possible, to minimize patients entering the office.

We ask that patients over the age of 18 enter the clinic alone unless assistance is needed. Minors must be accompanied by only 1 adult. Physical distancing protocols must always be maintained.

Additionally:

• It is mandatory that all patients over the age of 6 bring a mask to wear upon entering our clinic (between 2 yrs and 6 yrs if possible). This is in line with Sick Kids protocols.
• Kindly text us your full name and “ARRIVED” from your car at 437-538-3937 upon arrival. We will let you know when we are ready to see you at our new front entrance screening room (adjacent to old entrance). Due to this strict new screening routine, we will not be able to accept patients who are late. A no-show policy will be in place.
• Upon entering with your mask, you will be asked to use our hand sanitization station, put on gloves and have your temperature taken. You will then be given a COVID-19 questionnaire. If you screen negative, you will be brought directly to our pre-testing area.
• There will be NO waiting room in order to maintain physical distancing. After the exam, if you require Optical services, you will be met by a member of our Optical team and escorted to the Optical.
• You will notice frequent surface and equipment disinfection throughout your visit.

Lastly, you will notice that everyone in our clinic will be wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This may warrant a discussion with your child before their appointment. Please expect scrubs, face masks, goggles and/or face shields on our staff and Optometrists. Rest assured that we will also be wearing a smile under our masks!
